Abstract: This Panel Discussion, which will involve key local GIS professionals, will focus on how local GIS data is viewed for such topics as flood modeling, issues of scale, updated 3D visualizations of Buncombe County, downtown Asheville 3D visualizations, time-lapse of Asheville area nighttime lights, mapAsheville, and RENCI and natural hazard mitigation/planning efforts.

Biographical Sketch: Jason Mann is the GIS Coordinator for the City of Asheville, NC. He is a member of the Information Technology Services Department and has overall responsibility for the management of the citywide geographic information system. He has earned a BS degree from Appalachian State University in Anthropology and has undertaken graduate level studies at UNC Charlotte in geography. Jason has over five years professional GIS experience with local and federal government agencies, and the private sector.
